Important Engine Guard Details - The shape and tube diameter of a custom engine guard are completely different from a stock engine guard.

  • Make sure your frontend suspension is properly maintained with the correct firmness and travel prior to installing or riding with a custom engine guard, including the engine guard you purchased from CMC. This will help prevent damage to your front fender in the event you hit a hard dip while riding.

  • "Bump Stops" installed on your front forks might be necessary to prevent the front fender from hitting the engine guard. This is especially important if your frontend is lowered or if you have a front air ride. These precautions are necessary to prevent bottoming out and possibly damaging your front fender.
